Multitasking Myths

Some stories I tell myself:

"This automated task is going to take a while, I guess I can watch this quick video, or browse reddit while I wait."

"I can leave this video on while I work, it's nice to have something to listen to."

"This content is educational."

Some better stories:

"This automated task is going to take a while, I guess it's time to find a low-overhead task to complete in the mean time."

"If I can leave this video on while I work, I'm accepting that the work I'm doing isn't very valuable, and neither is the video."

"This work is educational."
